Rotherham is the economic centre of the neighbouring suburban areas, especially the town centre which is also home to exciting shops and boutiques, bars, cafes and restaurants, public squares and a number of visitor attractions, both historic and cultural. The town centre is also home to several fine hotels although the most popular ones - both with business and leisure travellers - are not located in Rotherham’s centre:
Premier Inn Rotherham East (M18/M1). This hotel is very popular with Rotherham visitors but it is also very popular with travellers who are visiting the wider South Yorkshire area thanks to its excellent location. The hotel is located just off A631, providing easy access to Rotherham town centre but it also provides easy access to other South Yorkshire town and cities as well as all the prime attractions in this part of the county.
Mercure Sheffield Parkway. Although classified ‘only’ as a three star hotel, the Mercure Sheffield Parkway is one of the most highly rated hotels in Rotherham - by travellers who are visiting Rotherham for both business and pleasure. It too is located outside the town centre which, however, is only four miles away. The hotel offers 78 comfortable, stylish and well equipped rooms, on-site bar & restaurant, and meeting facilities for up to 150 people.
The Stonecroft Hotel. This hotel isn’t only located outside the town centre but it is even located outside Rotherham. Situated in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside, the hotel is housed in a 18th century grade 2 listed building which, however, offers all the modern comforts and conveniences. Rotherham town centre is about 5 miles away, while the proximity to M18 also provides easy access to many Yorkshire hotspots and the area’s economic centres.

It is a part of the so-called Sheffield Urban Area and with population of about 120,000, it is the second largest ‘member’ of this conurbation.
